Life Before Her Eyes

Star gazing: Uma in New Haven

Posted on 23 September, 2006 | 2 Comments

(New Haven – September 18, 2006 – 12:28 PM) – Students at Yale University may be a bit star struck over the next couple of days – Uma Thurman is back in New Haven and she’s filming scenes for her upcoming movie on their campus.

An official star sighting in the Elm City – actress Uma Thurman strolling along Chapel Street, filming a scene for her new movie “In Bloom.”

“Did you see Uma yet?” asks the reporter.
“Oh yeah, then we went to get food and came back.”

That woman and many others have come out to see the star in action. Thurman is shooting a scene in which she and her on-screen daughter go for an ice cream at the Chapel Sweet Shoppe.

“What did you think when you caught a glimpse of her?” asks the reporter
“It was exciting, real exciting.”
“Taller than you thought?”
“Yeah, she’s huge, really tall.”

We’re told 6 feet or so.

While Chapel Street is closed between College and High to car traffic, people can still walk through, which could be good for business here.

“My customers are downtown and I think more will be out walking and looking around.”

Karen Conlin is hoping for one customer in particular.

“I would like to see her, she has two children and I have a baby store, maybe she’ll come in.”

Tomorrow they’ll be shooting a scene in which Thurman’s character goes to visit her college professor husband at his office on the Yale campus and she almost gets hit by a car on Chapel Street.

They’ll be shooting today and tomorrow until sunset.

Its 2008 now, and she never was in a movie titled “In Bloom”. Was the title changed? What has it come to be known as?
