I’ve added new screencaps of Uma from her movie, Motherhood. There are over 1,000 screencaps of the movie. I have to admit. It was not the best movie by Uma.

I know I’m bad at updating. The week has been so hectic that I’ve been doing some real-life online work. so now back to Uma! In case you have not heard, Percy Jackson was just released last week. Also Uma’s movie prior to Percy Jackson, Motherhood will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD next week Tuesday Feb. 23. The DVD has the following extra features: Interviews with Uma Thurman, Anthony Edwards, Minnie Driver and director Katherine Dieckmann.

Uma was in New York City last night for the premiere of Motherhood. The sponsors for the event was Gotham Magazine who also showcased their October issue with Uma on the cover. Unfortunately, I cannot purchase this magazine where I am from so a low quality version of the magazine will just have to do. Below are the images of Uma from Gotham magazine.

When Uma Thurman arrives at 6:47pm for the Motherhood special screening presented by Gotham Magazine and Coccinelle Wednesday at NYC’s SVA Theater, flashbulbs pop in awe of the towering screen siren.

With a line-free forehead and hair just ever so escaping her headband, the grounded actress, 39, who is mom to Maya, 11, and Levon, 7 — whose dad is ex-hubby Ethan Hawke — stops by to chat about the ups and downs of motherhood and whether she’d like more kids.

What’s the most challenging and rewarding thing about motherhood?

“The incredible opportunity to love and expand your heart, and to learn, and to discover yourself in many different ways,” Uma, wearing black pants, tells me with a laugh.

As a Hollywood actress, how does she relate to her character?

“We are not in Hollywood, we are in New York,” she cautions with a long pause.

Her mega-huge diamond engagement ring from fiancé Arpad Busson sparkles.

“In millions of ways,” she says. “Wait … how do I relate to it … I’ve had a long day. Well, her circumstances are different, but her concerns are the same as mine. Trying to be true to yourself as an individual and as a woman and be a loving mother and grow and find yourself – that’s the kind of thing we all deal with. I thought that was really universal.”

Any more kids in her future? She laughs nervously, and is whisked into the theater hugging friends and bobbing her head back and forth in conversation.

What is Uma like as a mom?

Writer/director Katherine Dieckmann tells me, “She is a wonderful, dedicated and devoted mom. We live actually not faraway from her in the Village, so I would see her sometimes at the playgrounds since we have children about the same age. I’ve always observed her to be an extraordinarily loving and committed and present mother.”

Really? We could find her at the playground?

“She takes her kids to the playground, of course,” she says. “She tries to keep as normal of a life as one can keep in this world being Uma Thurman.”

Post-screening, Uma, co-star Anthony Edwards and Katherine head to the afterparty at The Gates. The mom of two sneaks cigarettes by the fireplace until well after midnight. Uh-oh! Billy’s Bakery provides cupcakes before Uma heads home to the fam.

Motherhood is in theaters October 23.

Uma was seen outside the Ed Sullivan Theater for the taping of Late Show with David Letterman. Even though she was here today to do the show, the interview won’t be aired until this Friday. She was also seen in Good Morning America this morning. I’ve added photos of Uma from both shows in the gallery. The budget for Uma Thurman’s new film, “Motherhood,” was about $5 million, which, to put that in perspective, is $7.5 million less than Thurman’s reported asking price per film. The “Pulp Fiction” actress admitted the low budget made the shooting process difficult at times.

“It’s really hard to make a movie on such a low budget,” said Thurman, who helped kick off the 45th Chicago International Film Festival on Thursday with a screening of “Motherhood” at AMC River East 21 theater. “You don’t have the flexibility of doing the extra things. Everything you do ends up in the movie.”

“Motherhood” writer and director Katherine Dieckmann echoed those sentiments but said there are benefits to having a low budget.

“You have to reduce things to a one-shot, which is really a cruel thing to do to an actor,” said Dieckmann, who also was in attendance Thursday. “It’s like ‘You better nail it in one take. There’s no place to cut.’ That’s the sacrifices we make. On the other hand, you have certain freedoms making a low budget movie. I think on my end, I prefer freedom to having a bigger budget.”

Before screening the day-in-the-life-of-a-Mom comedy, which opens in select theaters Oct. 23, Thurman was presented a Career Achievement Award. Dieckmann said she has always been a fan of the 39-year-old actress and especially enjoyed her work in the made-for-HBO movie, “Hysterical Blindness.”

“Uma has a real great gangly physicality and she also has a very emotional feel,” Dieckmann said. “I like the idea of the physical things she brings as a comedian and the depth with which she responds to feelings.”

Mayor Richard Daley and film critic Roger Ebert also walked the red carpet on Thursday as did actress and film festival jury member Jacqueline Bisset.

Sighting: Following the premiere, Thurman and a guest had dinner at Le Colonial in the Gold Coast. They ate all of the Cha Gio and Banh Uot they ordered, but Thurman only had a few bites of their entrees — Bo Sate and chicken curry — because she’s on “portion control.”

At 7 p.m Thursday at the AMC River East 21, the 45th Chicago International Film Festival begins with “Motherhood.” (Writer-director Katherine Dieckmann’s feature opens in limited commercial release Oct. 23.) Thurman plays a West Village mother, poet, blogger, dangerously bored wife of an editor (Anthony Edwards). As Eliza prepares for her daughter’s birthday she’s taught a few reminders about what’s important.

Thurman’s award presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by the 7:30 screening and a 9:30 reception at the Wit Hotel, 201 N. State St. Tickets are $150.
