    Uma Thurman to play Medusa

    Uma Thurman is to play femme fatale Medusa.

    The 38-year-old actress will play the snake-haired goddess who turns men to stone just by looking at them in a new fantasy film, Empire reports.

    The movie, called Percy Jackson, will be directed by Chris Columbus and co-stars Pierce Brosnan as centaur Chiron, and Sean Bean as Zeus.

    The modern twist on the Greek myth sees Poseidon’s 12-year-old half-human son Lerman embark on a quest across modern-day America to save his mother, return Zeus’s stolen lightning bolt and prevent a deadly war between the gods.

    The film is based on the children’s book series Percy Jackson And The Olympians.

    Logan Lerman, 17, who played Christian Bale’s son in 3:10 to Yuma will star as demi-god Percy.
