    Uma Thurman’s A-list engagement party

    Haven’t been able to find any pictures of Uma at this event but I will see if I’m able to soon!

    Actress Uma Thurman and new fiance Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson have wasted no time in throwing a huge engagement party.

    The couple only announced their engagement last week but managed to attract a host of celebrity A-listers to the bash.

    After Thurman received such a grand engagement ring – said to be an eight-carat diamond surrounded by 20 smaller stones – from the multi-millionaire financier, a lavish engagement party was only to be expected.

    Guests included Sting and wife Trudie Styler, Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, and supermodel Claudia Schiffer, followed by Liz Hurley, Damien Hirst, Bob Geldof, Jemima Khan and Charlotte Princess of Monaco (to name a few).

    The party was held in a marquee in the garden of Arpad Busson’s house in Kensington, west London.

    Thurman has been married twice before – first to British actor Gary Oldman, and then to Hollywood star Ethan Hawke, with whom she has two children. Busson has two children from a previous long-term relatinoship with Australian model Elle Macpherson.

    Busson, the chairman of hedge fund EIM, is an old hand at at throwing glamorous parties. His children’s charity, Absolute Return for Kids (ARK), last month hosted a fundraising gala dinner which raised more than ?  ??25 million.

    With such an expensive ring and star-studded party, the French financier will have to throw an even bigger wedding in order to outdo his previous work.
