Fashion Style

Last Update:

Uma has always had a personal style in the all so mainstream Hollywood. She has clearly got influences in the little more bohemic style of India and the Buddhism oriented countries in Asia. She has mostly kept her hair long and blond and has mostly been seen with her hair loose and looking beautifully natural.

Even if Uma likes and has her own style, she does like to get dressed up for the red carpet and she always does with a great sense of taste. Her very favorite designer is probably Christian Dior and she has said that she feel both comfortable and beautiful in his dresses. And we can of course only agree.

It was a big buzz in the media when Uma went to the Oscars in 2005 in a dress made by Christian Lacroix and she changed her outfit to another dress for the Oscars After Party. She laughs at it by saying:

“Everyone looked the same, everyone had it down to such a perfect T. You get bored. That’s when you have to say, ‘I will be worst-dressed.’”

But also when asked ‘what’s is your most embarrassing experience?’, she answers:

“I have been voted Worst Dressed! It was the 2004 Oscars and I was wearing a Lacroix dress. I thought it was kinda cool, but apparently it wasn’t. I think that a lot of times they give the worst dressed awards to people wearing designers who aren’t advertising!”

Casual Clothing
Uma’s style is very simple and comfortable while she is hanging out with her kids, out doing ordinary things, such as grocery shopping or taking her dogs out for walk. It’s nice to see that she can relax and look wonderful and natural without being too obsessed with the pressure to always look “perfect” in Hollywood.

Dressed Up
Occasionally Uma is seen dressed up while out and about and then she’s mostly on her way to different job-related meetings and lunches or she just felt like showing out her favorite outfits. In any case, she always looks good!

Christian Dior
Perhaps Uma’s favorite designer and her you can see some of the beautiful dresses she has worn on events.
